Koko Be Good Is Good

“Koko Be Good” by Jen Wang, is a graphic novel that lives up to its name. This book is not only good; it is the best graphic novel I have ever read. This is because it features complex and flawed yet likeable characters, entertaining and innovative visual storytelling, and a truly uplifting and universally relatable message. The story is about a selfish and immature young woman called Koko. When she meets a young man called Jon who is moving to Peru to help the needy she is inspired to become a better person.

A motion comic preview of the next chapter of the webcomic Lemon Inc., which can be read at lemon-inc.com. It’s Andy’s dream to be a rich business mogul, but how will he get there if he won’t even serve a single customer? The background music is “Kiss Me, Son Of God”, by They Might Be Giants. I reccommend watching it in HD. It improves that quality a lot.

My awesome professor is letting me work on Lemon Inc. for an assignment. Here’s an uncoloured preview of the first page from the next storyline. some of the lettering still needs to be added, like on the magazine cover and the newspaper.

My Dream Bio for Design class. We were supposed to write and illustrate a bio of where we are now and where we want to go in the future. Naturally I made a comic. I would like to start actually using Tumblr to post art. I am in college now so I will post my assignments and stuff here now.

Shane Kirshenblatt’s New Project About LGBT Rights

Shane Kirshenblatt is working on a new project and he is looking for someone to share their personal experience with bullying in relation to homosexuality. He will then adapt their experience into a comic which he will distribute to schools to raise awareness. This is a great project and a portion of the profits will go to youth programs so if you or someone you know can help with it, please do. More details from Shane below.

As I work to complete the Anything Ghost Graphic novel, I am looking to plant the seeds for my next endeavor.

Given the significance of issues pertaining to homosexuality, specifically as it relates to bullying and tolerance in schools, I am looking to create a book which would be a true account of someone who has struggled with these issues personally (growing up, in school, with family), in order to provide perspective and understanding to those who have pre-conceived notions.

Currently, I have not yet chosen a person to base this book on, so I am opening this up to anyone who may be interested [in] being involved. My goal is to get this into schools and a significant portion of the profits will go to youth programs to support others who are currently struggling.

If you or anyone you know is interested in telling their story, please… email me at shanekirshenblatt (at) rogers.com. My current project is going to keep me busy through June but I’ll be ready to start work in July. Thanks and look forward to putting out something which will hopefully make a positive difference.

Reblogs are appreciated.
