The Seneca Collective Issue #1: Exploration
The first issue of The Seneca Collective, a bimonthly art and illustration zine from the School of Communication Arts and Animation students of Seneca College. In this issue: exploration themed illustrations and comics, plus an interview with Adriana Blake, storyboard artist!
This is some Scott Pilgrim fanart from a few years ago. It’s really old but I still kind of like it and I don’t think I’ve ever actually posted this here. The idea was to show various aspects of Scott’s personality but I mostly just wanted to draw him with different outfits/props. The composition and colours still work pretty well but I was a little sloppy with the execution. For some reason I gave the original art for this to Bryan Lee O’Malley when I met him at a signing in Toronto. I wonder if he still has it.
A preview of things to come.
Still designing characters… I’ve been working on this one for a while. She’s supposed to be kind of the opposite of the other character but I’ve been having trouble figuring out how to represent that idea in an equally humorous way. Not sure if I have it yet but I’m thinking that she has a crippling fear of everything but especially water so she always wears water wings.
Messing around with character designs for a comic I’m thinking of doing for The Seneca Collective. Hopefully this will make sense eventually.
